It is great to be back on Wisteria Lane! We left off last season with a lot of drama that was not fully resolved (and apparently will not be fully resolved for a while).
Spoiler Alert!!!
First things first Lynette and Tom status. Apparently they have yet to tell the kids that they do in fact want to get separated. Penny was picking up the clues leading up to their decision to separate even before they were, but of course it would not be desperate housewives without prolonging things. I thought Marc Cherry did a nice job showing that Lynette does still need Tom and in some ways wants Tom, but Lynette isn't going to go back into the relationship as quickly as most fans would like her too. After episode one we are left with Lynette and Tom letting the kids know that they are separating and leaving us fans wondering who will hook up quicker with someone else? Lynette or Tom?
Gaby's Step Father Crisis. The big cliffhanger of last season was the ladies coming together to hide the death or in that case Murder of Gaby's Step Father who we found out used to sexually abuse Gaby, and has up until that point made Gaby feel unsafe and scared. What was most significant about the season finale was the relationship between Brie and Carlos being reattached because of Bries quick decision to help Carlos and Gaby in hiding this murder and saving Carlos from yet another trip to jail. Brie and Gaby are willing to hide this secret until they die, but Lynette and Susan are not as able to feel that way. Throughout this first episode we see Susan not acting herself because of not being able to tell Mike what the secret is.
For the upcoming episodes this "Secret" will truly show how close the four ladies really are, and for that matter how loyal they are.
So I guess the biggest question is who will tell big secret first? Susan? Lynette..will find out.
Let me know what you thought of this first episode. Do you want Lynette and Tom to stay separated? Do you think Susan has every right to tell Mike the ladies secret?
