Welcome to the Rileys trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjK-szKfGFQ

This trailer reminds me of what's been missing at the movies lately. The simple idea of grieving. Parents grieving about a lost of child. The rabbit hole also has the same idea but I will talk about that in another post. For right now I am already over impressed by all three main characters in this movie trailer. It's a movie about moving on, and adapting to positive change.I think rather then going out to see movies such as Jackass, Paranormal Activity, and Life as We know it, spend the extra dollar and time to find a theater that is showing Welcome to the Riley's on November 5th, by the looks of the trailer you won't be disappointed.

Is The Social Network the next Avatar?

While some can assume what I mean by this title of the blog is that Social Network will make a large amount of money just like Avatar did, but that is not what I mean. What I mean is that is The Social Network the next Avatar in the sense that it is getting Oscar buzz, and shouldn't be. Don't get me wrong I thought Avatar was absolutely amazing, nothing has ever been done like it, but I still did not think it was Oscar worthy. What the Oscar's to me is for the movies that do not make that much money, but for the small audiences that do see it they leave the movie thinking about what the movie meant, and how it applies to their lives. For example Up in the Air it did not make that much money but people left the movie thinking about how in some ways they learned something from the movie. This year at the Oscars if The Social Network based on something that really happened gets nominated over Indy Movies such as Never Let Me Go, The Black Swan, Blue Valentine and other Indy Hits I will not be happy. The Oscar's is for the Indy Movies not the Blockbuster hits.
